Khusrau's forthcoming translation of the Old Testament into Twelver Shi'i Persian was authorized by Isma'il ibn Jafar, though he lamented its failure because he thought it was not translatable. Khusrau also translated the New Testament into Persian, but this did not succeed either. Khusrau, however, had houses built for Ismaili scholars, none of whom ever dared to come inside. The residence is still known as Khusrau Nama (Khusrau's Dwelling) in Lambaghatta near the site of the fort of Delhi. Khusrau also built a mosque in Najafabad near Baghdad, and the name of Khusrau and his family became well-known in the Islamic world. All one hundred members of Khusrau's family (including all the 10 wives and 45 sons and daughters) received the honorific title of Ba'al, and the family were buried in Najafabad. Khusrau's efforts were to be a part of Ismaili's later success. Isma'il, for example, made the word Jafariya (Shi'i; Heirs of Zayd) a synonym for Ismailis (Jafaris).[17]
Jalal al-Din-i-Iskandar, a descendant of Abu Iskandar and the Maraj, built the "Birth Gate" (Qutb-e-Shahr) in Delhi in 1455, where he was born. Its original masonry was replaced in the 20th century by concrete.[15] Khusrau-i-Jahan, another descendant of Abu Iskandar, planted two pomegranate trees (Dom-e-Shahr) at the gate. He also had a small mosque built there, and a school built adjacent to the mosque. The small wall next to the Mosque is said to be the wall of Khusrau's grave. At Jalal al-Din's death in 1472, one of his three sons who were of age, Amir ul-Mulk (Amr ul-Malik), was enthroned with the title of Sultan "on his grandfather's side". Khusrau Khan was son of the Maraj and Khusrau-i-Jahan. d2c66b5586
