This is a great documentary on the legendary soundsystem Valve, a project by producer Dillinja and Drum & Bass artist Lemon D. It is one of the best documentary films available on the subject and certainly worth the price tag. For those not familiar with the scene, the crew are best known for Dillinja's productions such as 'Illiterate', 'Zenith', 'Natural Elements', 'Nothing's Ever Over' and 'Piano Jazz', all of which have sold tens of thousands of copies, and are amongst the most well-loved D&B albums of the past decade. It is also home to one of the best known music festivals in the world, 'Unplugged', a three-day event which attracts thousands of people to the Sussex Coast each year. This documentary follows the development of the Valve soundsystem, from the beginning in 2002, when Dillinja and Lemon D purchased a small studio in Brighton and began experimenting with new sounds and techniques, until it reached its peak in 2008, when it began performing on the 'Unplugged' stage at the largest Drum & Bass festival in the world. It also includes interviews with a number of Valve's collaborators and collaborators, including Simian Mobile Disco, The Foreign Exchange, The Japanese House, The Orb, Dubfire, Mark Knight, Fierce D and many more.
