The album was the second of three live releases in the UK from the band's final tour, and the first of three live releases from the US tour (the others were the band's live album Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out and the compilation albums The Rolling Stones: Their First US Tour, 1965 and Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones were to appear at the San Francisco Mime Troupe Benefit Concert on 23 June 1971, but the show was cancelled due to the tragic death of San Francisco mayor George Moscone and supervisor Harvey Milk.
