thanks very much for the tips, i get it now and i have it running in XP already and i need to check my code out first, but i do have XP and windows 7 on my desktop and laptop so only one version of MATLAB would fit on both (other then the nvida version) i did notice that in the jar files the declaration for the " ".exe" is also in the jar file and not the manifest.txt file so that tells me that other then the pathing issues that the files are there and the jar is setup right (unlike the previous verison of MATLAB that could not open those files because it said they are not there)luckiest guy in the world

K.H.Hi Freni, thanks for your effort in the installation of the portable version, there are a few things I want to point out regarding the portable version from the point of view of a developer.When writing node.m (and other files exported from the portable version) I get messages such as, 'License restriction', 'Program '' may not be used for commercial or military purposes.'. Are you aware of the restriction on commercial applications? If not I would suggest you add an option to this effect or mention customers need permission to run the software. This is likely to lead to several negative reactions to such an email or message.I am greatly concerned that this would cause the users to lose interest in the software.If the licence doesn't ensure in-depth research, it is strange anyone should bother with the licence!I am aware you have been working on this for a long time, but I would have hoped you had a better solution.Thanks for your time and best regardsMax
