In Wrongworld you play a weird teddy-bear-like creature who, as it seems to be the case in every survival crafting game, was traveling through space when its ship was damaged, causing it to crash land on a strange planet.
The core gameplay in Wrongworld involves collecting resources and crafting stuff. The more you craft, the better tools you have at your disposal to get more resources and craft better stuff. You have two meters that you need to monitor: health and food. When your food meter hits zero, you start to lose health. When you get hit by an aggressive creature you lose health. When your health reaches zero, you die. You regain food by eating. You sometimes also regain a little health.
Being older, I started with board games. Those led to early Amiga, Mac, and Win 3.1 gaming. I've been hooked on computer gaming since there's been computer gaming. I prefer strategy (4X, war, and space) and also enjoy survival games, but I have played just about everything imaginable.
Wrongworld offers a plethora of unconventional things to craft that gives the game an overall uniqueness. Standard things like food recipes, gathering tools, structures, armor, potions, are all present here. However things like a fast travel cannon, a mountable hamster, and a jetpack help maneuverability immensely. These address a big issue with a lot of crafting games that have a big world to explore but have no means to help you explore more efficiently.

Writing about The Forest this morning got me thinking about survival games, and the ways that I like to play them. I have a hard time just sitting for hours on end, chopping down trees and building sad little huts. After the initial push to understand the world and its mechanics, I much prefer to play survival titles for 30 minutes at a time, right before sleep, lying in bed and ruining my dreams.
You know what device is perfect for that sort of poor behavior The Switch. You know what the Switch doesn't have many of Survival games. You know what survival game would be the best thing ever on the Switch Wrongworld! I'm going to be honest here. If my recent inability to ween myself off of Fallout Shelter is any indication, I would play Wrongworld for the rest of my life if it showed up on Switch.
Now, don't get me wrong. Sludj Games, the one man outfit that developed Wrongworld, has made absolutely zero announcements about porting Wrongworld to the Switch. This is pure wish/fantasy stuff here. But surely, in the three months since Wrongworld unleashed it's unique blend of survival/science fiction/fuzzy-wuzzy-bear-friend gameplay on the world, Jamie Coles - the lone developer at Sludj - has had time to port the game to a new system, right
